Why I built it

Working across specialist industries means keeping up with changes in each client’s market. Expert interviews aren’t always easy to arrange. I built a scheduled report that scans recent industry news and competitor activity, creates a ClickUp document and pushes a summary into the relevant internal Slack channel.

How it informs the work

Each report explains why a development matters to the client. For example, a competitor’s new MCP feature changed the context of an article we had written about translating websites with Claude. That gave us a reason to recommend reviewing and refreshing the piece. We’ve rolled Industry Pulse out across all clients. It gives us useful context and editorial leads to check, alongside the expertise and conversations that inform our strategy.

A new integration changes the conversation

Fictional competitor Verba has announced an MCP integration that connects its translation workflow to an AI assistant. The demo shows an editor requesting translations and checking their status from the same conversation.

Why it matters for Meridian

Our existing article explains where AI-assisted website translation still requires manual handoffs. This development gives us a specific reason to check whether those limitations have changed.

Retailers bring localisation into launch planning earlier

In this fictional industry update, commerce platform Cartwell reports that its retail partners are planning multilingual launches before building their new storefronts. Local payment options and translated checkout flows are becoming part of the initial brief.

Why it matters for Meridian

This suggests a useful conversation about when localisation decisions should happen. We could interview a customer about their launch planning, then use that experience to strengthen our market-entry guide.
